A hungry wild elephant raided a noodle shop to eat tomatoes for his breakfast.

The wild jumbo wandered out from the forest after smelling the food cooking at the store in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, on February 15.

Footage shows the animal approaching the cabinet where the food was stored. It then used its trunk to break into the drawer and took the snacks, munching on them.

The whole family watched quietly from a distance, fearing the elephant might rampage into the building and injure them.

The shop owner called the animal rescue team to help manage the situation but the beast had already clomped back into the woods.

Thailand has up to 3,500 elephants in the wild. The population has been increasing in recent years, but it is still a fraction of the estimated 300,000 wild elephants that lived in the country at the beginning of the 20th century.

The main threats to wild elephants in Thailand are habitat loss and fragmentation, poaching, and conflict with humans.
