India: Dispute over possession of property, son set his mother on fire in the police station
On July 16, Tuesday, in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, a son set his mother on fire inside the police station.
According to the CCTV footage the woman got badly burnt in the fire, after which she was hurriedly taken to the hospital. When the woman's condition became critical, she was referred to a higher center but the woman could not be saved. The woman was having a dispute with her husband's maternal uncle regarding land and possession. At present the accused son has been arrested.
According to the information, a 50-year-old woman named Hemlata from Aligarh was having a dispute with her in-laws regarding the possession of a house. It is being told that the woman's husband had died about 18 years ago. After which the woman along with her children had come to her maternal uncle and father-in-law's house in Darkan Nagariya village of Khair village.
The woman has a total of three sons, out of which two sons are working in Faridabad, while the elder son lives with the woman. he's married. A few days ago, a woman named Hemlata had accused her maternal uncle and father-in-law of threatening and abusing her. The police had registered an FIR in this matter and a charge sheet has been filed in this matter. The police had called both the parties to the police station for reconciliation.
