Policeman suspended for ramming petrol station attendant and driving away
A policeman was captured on CCTV ramming a petrol station attendant and speeding across a road with the man clinging onto his bonnet in India.
The now-suspended officer K Santhosh Kumar from the Kannur Police Station allegedly refused to pay for gas which prompted a worker to chase him in Kerala on July 16.
But instead of paying up, he tried to run over the employee who dodged being struck by climbing onto the front of the car.
Footage shows abusive cop's car refusing to stop despite the man clinging for life on the bonnet.
The worker Anil fell onto the road after reaching a distance of one kilometre. He sustained injuries in his hand and reported the cop to the police station.
Ajit Kumar, the commissioner of Kannur city police, said: 'The accused officer was suspended. He was arrested and suspended from service.'
Santhosh was charged with attempted murder which is punishable by at least ten years or life imprisonment.
