Los Angeles, California Commission decides to vacate the 'El Burro' stand in Placita Olvera
A Los Angeles commission voted to evict the owners of La Carreta, home of a beloved Olvera Street attraction known as "El Burro," despite an attempt by the council to save it.
The El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Landmark Authority Board of Commissioners gave the owners a 30-day eviction notice. Richard Hernandez, owner of La Carreta, told City News Service he was devastated and will consider his next steps.
