Deliveryman attacked by two pet pitbulls outside doctor's home in India
This is the shocking moment a deliveryman was attacked by two vicious pet pit bulls outside a doctor's home in India.
The courier, Salman, was delivering a parcel to Dr Akshat Rao's house when the pair of unrestrained demon dogs pounced on him in Raipur city in Chhattisgarh state on July 12.
Footage shows one of the canines biting the screaming deliveryman's thigh as he hobbled outside trying to flee.
A bleeding Salman managed to free himself and climbed up the bonnet of a parked vehicle to escape the dogs.
He was rushed to a hospital by the doctor's neighbours.
Amitesh Bhardwaj, Kali Mata ward councillor, said: 'A woman named Sandhya Rao lives here, she is a doctor by profession. Dr Sandhya Rao has kept 3 dogs in her house. Out of the three dogs, two are of the pitbull breed and one is of another breed.
'On Friday, the delivery boy came in an auto to drop wallpaper at Sandhya Rao's house. As soon as he reached the door to go inside the house, he was attacked by 2 pitbull dogs. The dogs have badly bitten the delivery boy on his hands and legs.'
Locals said Dr Rao frequently kept her gate open and allegedly allowed her dogs to roam the neighbourhood. A case has been filed against her.
Police have assured that they will thoroughly investigate the matter before taking any action.
Pitbulls are among the 23 dog breeds banned and considered dangerous in India. Other breeds include Mastiffs, Rottweilers, Terriers, and their cross-breeds.
