A mother and daughter were trapped in an elevator as floodwaters surged in central China.

The terrifying incident was filmed in Shangqiu City in Henan Province on July 17.

Woken by her mother, who feared the garage would flood, the woman quickly grabbed her car keys and, along with her mother, took the elevator down to the basement level. As the elevator reached the second basement floor, floodwaters surged in as soon as the doors began to open, quickly rising to the woman's legs.

In a panic, she pressed the emergency call button and banged on the elevator doors in a desperate attempt to get help, but the signal was lost, and her pleas went unheard. After over an hour of being trapped, property management staff managed to pry open the elevator doors and rescue the pair.

The woman later expressed her fear and helplessness during the ordeal but was thankful for the timely and effective response from the property staff. She praised their swift action, which ultimately saved them.

据了解，事发于7月17日凌晨4点多，当时暴雨如注，导致地面积水严重。女子在家中睡觉时，被母亲叫醒，告知车库可能被淹，需要尽快下去挪车以防止汽车受损。女子听到后，立刻睡意全无，拿上车钥匙，与母亲一起乘坐电梯前往负二楼的地下车库。

然而，当电梯到达负二楼，门将要打开时，洪水瞬间涌入电梯，积水迅速上涨至女子腿部。女子顿时感到惊恐不已，连忙按下电梯上的紧急呼叫按钮求救，并拍打电梯门希望引起外界注意。但由于电梯内手机信号中断，女子的求救信号未能及时传出。

幸运的是，母女俩被困在电梯中长达一个多小时后，物业工作人员强行拉开电梯门，将她们救出。

事后，女子表示，当时她感到非常害怕和无助，但幸运的是物业工作人员及时赶到并实施了救援。她也对物业的迅速响应和有效救援表示了感谢。
