China installs 30,000-tonne offshore drilling platform in Pearl River Mouth Basin
China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced on Wednesday that it had successfully installed the Xijiang 30-2B drilling platform in the Pearl River Mouth Basin.
This independently developed offshore drilling platform from China weighs about 30,000 tonnes and stands approximately 198 meters tall, equivalent to a 70-story residential building.
The Xijiang 30-2B platform is the seventh offshore production facility in the Xijiang oilfield, located approximately 150 to 175 kilometers southeast of Shenzhen City.
