Passengers were stranded as the Microsoft global outage disrupted flights at the Manila airport in the Philippines.

Footage shows crowds of people waiting as staff of local airlines Cebu Pacific manually processed boarding at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on July 19.

The airlines in a statement blamed the situation on technical issues reportedly related to technology provider CrowdStrike.

It said: 'The technical issue requires us to handle affected processes manually, potentially causing delays.'

IT systems around the world were affected by the crash, which grounded flights and disrupted operations across various industries.

The tech giant said: 'We're investigating an issue impacting users ability to access various Microsoft 365 apps and services.

'We're working on rerouting the impacted traffic to alternate systems to alleviate impact in a more expedient fashion.'
