In a scene reminiscent of a video game, a high-speed pursuit involving a stolen ambulance gripped Morrow on April 17th, 2024. The incident unfolded after reports surfaced of an ambulance stolen from Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, Georgia, sparking a coordinated response from law enforcement.

Atlanta Police Department's Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit collaborated with Georgia State Patrol to track down the rogue ambulance, which careened through multiple jurisdictions. During the pursuit, the suspect, identified as 27-year-old La'Darius Williams, brazenly disregarded traffic signals and rammed into civilian and police vehicles.

The chase intensified when an Atlanta police officer successfully deployed a Stock Stick device, deflating the ambulance's tires. Despite this setback, Williams persisted, leading troopers along Tara Boulevard until Georgia State Patrol executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver. The maneuver sent the stolen vehicle crashing across lanes and into a utility pole, finally bringing it to a halt.

Williams attempted to flee on foot but was swiftly apprehended with the assistance of officers from various jurisdictions. He was subsequently taken into custody by Georgia State Patrol troopers and transported to Clayton County Jail for processing.
