Man caught on CCTV stealing two sacks of rice and eight gas canisters from soto stall
A man was caught on CCTV stealing from a soto stall in Indonesia.
Security camera footage from the soto stall in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra Province, shows the suspect loading sacks of rice onto his scooter in the early morning hours of July 11, 2024.
He then took gas canisters before leaving the scene.
Stall owner Wardani Arda (62) said the suspect entered through the garage next to the stall. "He climbed the fence using a chair, his footprints are on the car hood. He broke the window to get into the stall," Arda added.
According to Arda, CCTV footage shows the suspect going back and forth to the stall to take two sacks of rice and eight 3kg gas canisters. The suspect also damaged the donation box and took all the money inside.
The theft has been reported to the police. The victim suffered a loss of around Rp2,500,000 or around GBP 143.
