Cops rescued an injured bald eagle that was struck by a vehicle and left on the roadside in Michigan.
Footage shows officers checking on the bird with K9 deputy Baum, a retired sergeant major in the United States Marine Corps, draping a blanket over the creature in Mason County on July 18.
Deputies from the Mason County Sheriff's Office, alongside a conservation officer from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, helped with the evacuation.
The young eagle was taken to an ARK facility in St Helen, where it was given critical care.
Initial assessments at ARK indicated that while the eagle had no broken bones, but there was concern about a possible shoulder injury. Despite this, medics said there is a high chance that the eagle can be safely released back into its natural habitat once the comprehensive assessment is complete.
