Italy: French Tourists Rescued from Precarious Gorropu Canyon, Italy

The operations center of the Nuoro Fire Department received a distress call regarding two stranded French tourists in the Gorropu area. Responding swiftly, a team was dispatched from the central headquarters in Nuoro, along with a helicopter from the regional office in Sardinia carrying specialized rescue personnel.
The tourists were located on a ledge within the Gorropu canyon and were safely airlifted aboard Drago 144 using a winch operation coordinated by the pilot, crew member, and rescue specialist. Upon transfer to ground teams of firefighters and medical personnel, their health was confirmed to be in good condition.
