Canada: BC Extreme Heat Has Impact on Aldergrove Fair Days Attendance Numbers
Langley, Canada - July 21, 2024
As the 112th Annual Aldergrove Fair kicked off to a great start Friday evening with the car Show and Shine event and entertainment, it was followed Saturday and Sunday with the Kids Zone, Tractor Pull, Pie Eating Contest, Fast Draw Competition, Rides and Games among much more.
The numbers were down this year due to several factors, the biggest being the heat. As an outdoor event, the hot summer weather kept many people home trying to keep cool. As the evening air cooled down, many people came out to enjoy concerts from such musicians as Jim Abbott & Friends in addition to Nearly Neil, a top tribute performer covering Neil Diamond hits. The crowd of all ages jumped to their feet to Neil's most well known song, Sweet Caroline.
A new addition to the fair events this year was the Pie Eating Contest. Even the local RCMP (Police) department joined in and although exciting the officer was shamed by the young winner.
