STORYLINE:

A China-U.S. cultural exchange event was staged recently in Nanjing County, east China's Fujian Province.

American opera singer Carla Dirlikov Canales as well as Chinese artists and music teachers jointly presented splendid performances.

They also shared views on traditional Chinese opera, music, and the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage in Fujian.

"I am going to give Aunt Carla a piece of Chinese calligraphy work with characters of "Fu Lai Fu Wang" (Good fortune always stays). The character "Fu" embodies two meanings: good luck and Fujian. I hope it can bring good luck to Aunt Carla and she can often come to Fujian."
