This is the terrifying moment a wild snake slithered through a house during a flood.

Jessa Clarin spotted the confused reptile inside her dining room in Calumpit, Bulacan, the Philippines, on July 21.

Footage shows the snake wriggling towards the flooded kitchen outside.

Jessa said: 'We were sitting in the living room when we noticed the snake. We were so scared that we ran inside.'

The city has been experiencing heavy rain and flooding for days, causing snakes to emerge.

The Philippines and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
