"The 46th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee commenced on July 21 in India's capital, New Delhi, and will run until July 31.
The inaugural event was attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay. During the ceremony, PM Modi announced India's commitment to donate one million dollars to the UNESCO World Heritage Center. This contribution aims to support heritage conservation efforts, particularly in countries of the Global South.
The session underscores the global effort to preserve and protect cultural and natural heritage, reflecting the importance of international cooperation in safeguarding the world's most treasured sites."
