Al Hudaydah, Yemen - July 19, 2024

The updated toll from the Israeli airstrike launched on July 83 against the port of the Yemeni city of Hodeidah, controlled by the pro-Iranian Houthi group, stands at six dead and 20 wounded. This was reported by the Saudi-owned pan-Arab satellite broadcaster 'Al Arabiya', citing Houthi medical sources. The Israeli strike, carried out by F-35 fighters, hit oil storage facilities and a power plant, causing a massive fire. The Israeli strike came just over 24 hours after the Houthis launched a drone strike in Tel Aviv, killing one person inside a flat. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed responsibility for the attack, explaining that it was launched "in response to hundreds of attacks" carried out against the Jewish state in recent months.
