A distraught woman can be heard screaming "what the f*** are you doing" in shocking doorbell footage captured close to where the soldier was attacked."

A young couple who live just across the road from the scene were at home yesterday (Tues) when they heard "piercing" cries."

The Ring doorbell belonging to Alex and Natasha Reynolds caught part of the horror incident - with a woman heard repeatedly shouting in a 21-second clip.

Dad-of-one Alex left his home to find the soldier with a "trail of blood" coming from his body - and says the victim was in uniform."

"We heard the screaming," the 38-year-old commodity analyst said. "We thought it was a scuffle at first, but we could hear the piercing screaming. "

"I walked out onto the corner a minute and a half after. There were already ten or so people around the body. "

"We presumed he had already passed away because the body was so still. "

"He was in a full, creamy camouflage uniform and he was the only person at the scene wearing a military uniform. "

"It happened just outside the gate of his housing. There was a trail of blood around the soldier."

Alex's partner, 30-year-old renewable energy worker Natasha Reynolds, added: "A colleague of his told us he comes back from work around six, so he was on his way back from work. "

"We think the casualty was targeted. "

"We heard screaming… I assume it was the wife of the [victim] that was screaming."

Mr Reynolds added: "The fact is, there were five or six people there at the same time and [the attacker] didn't attack anyone else - and he was the only one in military uniform. "

"Within two or three minutes people were texting each other photos of the guy attacking acting very nonchalant."

And he claimed: "A car tried to veer into [the attacker] to stop him from getting away, but it didn't work."

The couple added that the area is considered very safe.

Another local resident said: "Nothing like this has ever happened here before. It's a nice, quiet, safe neighbourhood," the woman added."

"I was at work when it all happened."

Many other locals declined to comment on the attack, saying they were military families and would not comment out of respect to the family of the victim.
