Mud and trees tumbled down a mountainside, sending smoke into the air in southern China.

The dramatic video was filmed in Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province on July 22.

On July 22, 2024, a sudden and severe landslide occurred in Lengqi Town, Luding County, located in the Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan province, southwestern China.

The event caused the mountain's soil and vegetation to break apart, sending chunks of earth and small pieces of wood tumbling down.

The loose soil raised massive clouds of dust upon hitting the ground, leading to a dramatic scene.

Local residents experienced significant disturbances, with one Chinese netizen commenting on the intensity of the event, "The noise made the nearby houses tremble as if they were about to fall."

According to media reports, due to the landslide, the entrance of the Foer Yan Tunnel on the local hill has been put under temporary traffic control, and the expected time of passing is yet to be determined.
