Hundreds of streets were submerged today as Typhoon Gaemi hit the Philippines, killing at least 13 people and flooding vast swathes of the capital.

Residents have been experiencing heavy floods during the torrential rainstorm in the Manila on July 24.

Footage captured by Thirdy Santos shows locals walking in hip-deep water, and some children can be seen playing in the rain.

The typhoon has killed at least 13 people in the Philippines and one in Taiwan, where It is expected to make landfall in Taiwan this evening.
