Monkey builds nest to shelter from rain at Perth Zoo
A smart orangutan built a nest to shelter from the cold during a rainy day in Australia.
Footage shows the monkey named Pulang gathering sack and hay to make a cosy bed in Perth Zoo on July 23.
According to zookeepers, Pulang's nest-building process is meticulous. She begins by gathering materials and carefully selecting wood wool, leafy branches, cardboard, and hessian sacks. Layer by layer, she intricately weaves these elements together to create a secure and comfortable retreat.
Once her nest is complete, Pulang settles in and indulges in snacks.
Its caretaker said: 'Anyone else see this rain and immediately want to snuggle back in bed?'
