Yemen: Yemen's Hodeidah Port partially resumes operations after Israeli airstrikes
Al Hudaydah, Yemen - July 24, 2024
Yemen's port of Hodeidah has partially resumed operations after Saturday's deadly airstrikes by Israel targeting its facilities, while it will take time for tanker handling to fully resume.
Hodeidah Port is a crucial for importing food, fuel, and other essential supplies for the people in northern Yemen.
The strikes occurred on Saturday evening, severely damaging fuel storage facilities and a power plant at the Houthi-held port.
The Yemeni fire department announced on Wednesday night that the fire at the fuel storage facilities in the port was all extinguished.
Israel's airstrikes came a day after the Houthis claimed responsibility for an explosion drone strike in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv that killed one person and injured 10 others, according to Israeli media.
