This is the heartwarming moment a caring resident helped a cat stuck on a roof during typhoon floods.

Kent Bugayong spotted the hapless stray moggy meowing for help in front of his window amid heavy rainfall in Baguio, the Philippines, on June 24.

Footage shows the man calling the furry creature and bribing it with treats to come to him.

They eventually retrieved the animal and brought it inside the house.

Kent said his family adopted the cat and named him Snowy after confirming with his neighbour that it was not a missing pet.

He said: 'We used to take care of stray cats outside our home, and we feed them. We already have six indoor cats, and some of them are rescue cats.'

The country has been experiencing severe rainfall from Typhoon Gaemi, which moved to Taiwan.

The rainstorm affected one million residences and killed 14 individuals as the typhoon exited the country's area of responsibility. It killed at least three people in Taiwan.
