NDRF teams deployed in western India after landslide amidst floods
In a recent incident in western India's Maharashtra, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed their teams, in response to an ongoing situation involving potential casualties.
The incident took place in Ekta Nagar, Sinhagad Road and Warje of Pune city on July 25.
Visuals showed the rescue teams in action, facing significant delays due to cracks that developed on the enroute roads. These fractures have impeded timely access, complicating the overall rescue efforts.
Speaking to Newslions, NDRF Public Relations Officer Raigad, Deepak Tiwari, stated that, NDRF deployed two teams to Ekta Nagar and Sinhagad Road. A third team has been earmarked for Warje, Pune, in response to an ongoing situation involving potential casualties. He indicated that there may be 2-3 persons trapped, though the exact number has not been confirmed by local administration and remains speculative.
According to reports, in response to severe flooding caused by relentless rainfall in Pune, the Indian Army has dispatched a rescue and relief team to the inundated area of Ekta Nagar in Anandnagar, Sinhgad Road. This deployment follows a requisition from the civil administration for immediate assistance to affected residents.
The Army's response team includes Infantry troops, an Engineer task force, and medical personnel, all equipped with rescue boats and essential healthcare services. This well-coordinated effort aims to deliver prompt and effective support to those in need.
