STORYLINE:

The provincial meteorological bureau of Fujian announced that Typhoon Gaemi made its second landfall in China on Thursday evening.

According to the bureau, this year's third typhoon landed in Putian in Fujian Province, at around 7:50 p.m. Thursday. 

In Jiangyin Town, Fuqing City, villagers have been relocated to a designated shelter equipped with essential supplies.

"We live in a mud house built by my parents. It's unsafe during a typhoon. So village officials went to our home and told us we can relocate here."

"We are provided with good meals and fruits."

SOUNDBITE 3 (Chinese): LIU GAOSHENG, Deputy head of Jiangyin Town 
"All of the township and village officials are on the front line. We have relocated 515 people and are ensuring ample supplies and timely patrols along the coastline."

Amid continuous torrential rains brought by the typhoon, Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian, has mobilized resources to combat potential flooding.

The city's flood control center has deployed emergency response teams to monitor flood-prone areas and key traffic routes.

"We will open the sluice gates of our reservoirs based on the water levels in the pipes and rivers."
