Illegal liquor seizure: Southern India police crackdown on smuggling
In a significant operation in southern India's Andhra Pradesh the police have destroyed illegal liquor and Natu Sara worth approximately 32,250 dollars (27 lakhs)
The incident took place in Perumallapalli village of Chittoor district on July 25.
Visuals from the operation showed the seized liquor being destroyed under the supervision of police officials. A road roller was used to crush the bottles under the supervision of police officials.
According to reports, the seizure occurred at multiple locations within the Chittoor West Circle, with a total of 116 cases of illegal liquor and Natu Sara being registered. The cases are distributed as follows: 40 in Yadamari,8 in Thavanampalle, and 68 in Gudipala. Overall, the authorities confiscated 3240 liters of illicit liquor and 1258 liters of Natu Sara (a locally produced cheap liquor).
Chittoor District SP, Shri V.N. Manikantha Chandolu, IPS, supervised the operation, supported by D.SP Shri Rajagopal Reddy. Key participants included Chittoor West Circle Inspector Mr. Ravi Shankar Reddy, SEB AES Mr. Ravi, Yadamari SI Mr. Ramanjaneyulu, Thawanampally SI Mr. Anil Kumar, and Gudipala SI Shri Narendra Kumar, along with their teams.
SP Chandolu stressed the significance of following the law, stating, "Follow laws for society and family. Avoid smuggling. Smuggling is punishable. Respect laws, act responsibly."
This operation is part of the police's continued efforts to tackle illegal liquor smuggling and ensure the community's safety and well-being.
