This is the dramatic moment passengers were rescued from a flooded bus as Typhoon Gaemi lashed the Philippines.

Video shows terrified commuters stuck inside the swamped coach that was half-submerged in a flood along Araneta Avenue in Quezon City, Metro Manila, on July 24.

Some of the passengers had climbed to the roof, while the others remained inside awaiting rescue. Rescuers later arrived with a boat to evacuate them.

One of the passengers, Maylyn Haranilla, said: 'Thank God we were rescued. I thought that was the end of us.'

Typhoon Gaemi killed at least 22 in the Philippines after lashing through mainland Luzon for almost a week, intensifying monsoon rains.

It moved north to Taiwan, killing at least three people and injuring more than 200 when it made landfall.
