Young rocket enthusiast impresses with self-taught skills in China
This is the impressive moment a young rocket enthusiast made a projectile using self-taught skills in China.
Yan Hongsen, 11, a primary school student, has a passion for rocket science, inspiring him to build small rockets.
Footage captured by his proud father shows him sitting at the computer creating the rocket in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, on July 19.
According to his dad, Yan has independently advanced his knowledge in mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, electronics, aerospace, and programming beyond the pace of his current studies.
'My son is preparing to launch his second rocket this summer, which is now being constantly upgraded,' he added.
Yan's parents said he showed a fascination with rockets at the age of eight and built a small model rocket, successfully launching it on his own at the age of nine.
He was also invited to visit the Harbin Institute of Technology, the first school of China's aerospace industry, inspiring him to be more determined in his dream of building a real rocket in the future.
