The incident took place in Singhia Ghat, Singhia Buzurg North Panchayat, within the Vibhutipur block area of Samastipur district on July 25.

Visuals showed locals, taking a dip in the holy river then later wrapping snakes around their necks and hands at the riverbank in broad daylight. According to the reports, the scene during the Panchami Tithi in the holy month-Sawan in Vibhutipur is quite unique. At this fair, attendees are drawn not only by the crowd, food, and entertainment but also by the spectacle of the snake fair. People from various districts come to witness locals who, after taking a dip in the Gandak river, emerge with snakes wrapped around their necks and hands. The event highlights a deep, seemingly harmonious connection between humans and snakes.
