In a humorous yet costly misunderstanding, Instagram user 'molly.mikos' shared a story of how her children, while building a dam in their neighborhood street, mistook rocks for chalk and drew on a stranger’s car.

Supervised by five adults and with safety flags and lookouts in place, the children had been drawing with chalk on the sidewalk and noticed rocks also left marks. They then transferred their art to a darker canvas—a car belonging to friends of their neighbors. Fortunately, the car owners were gracious, and 'molly.mikos' has promised to cover the repair costs in full.

Additionally, the children will be doing chores to help pay for the damages.

My children were building a dam in of our neighborhood street, supervised by 5 adults and with flags up to warn cars of children playing as well as having lookouts for the cars. They had just been drawing with chalk on the sidewalk, and they noticed that rocks also left marks on the sidewalk. They transferred their art to a darker canvas — a car that belonged to friends of our neighbors. They were very gracious about it, and we will be paying for it in full. The children will be doing chores to pay for it as well.
