This is the heartwarming moment a sergeant rescued an injured juvenile eagle that fell on the roadside in Arizona, United States.

Sergeant Giralde was off-duty working a road construction detail when construction workers alerted him to the wounded raptor lying near his patrol vehicle on July 11.

Sergeant Giralde and Deputy Klepper carefully manoeuvred the vehicle to safely retrieve the eagle. They placed the bird in the back seat to cool down before contacting the Arizona Raptor Center for assistance.

The Arizona Raptor Center identified the bird as a juvenile eagle that had likely become separated from its parents. They praised Sergeant Giralde's actions, noting that without intervention, the eagle may not have survived.

The centre has since taken custody of the eagle, providing necessary care for its recovery.
