Cow rescued from well in southern India

In a dramatic rescue operation in southern India's Kerala, a cow was saved after falling into a deep well.

The incident took place at Peringandur Mattathim House In Wadakkanchery municipality, of Thrissur district on July 28.

Visuals showed the challenging rescue operation conducted by the team. Officers detailed the rescue efforts and were seen pulling the cow with the help of a rope to retrieve the animal safely. Local residents surrounded the well, watching anxiously as the rescue unfolded.

Speaking to Newslions, Nidheesh Tk Fire Station Officer of Wadakkanchery Fire stated that the rescue team was led by Officer Mr. Kalesh Kumar SK and included Fire and Rescue Officers Mr. Shijith, Mr. Vysakh, Mr. Krishnaraj, Mr. Nitindev, Mr. Akhil, Mr. Royson, and Home Guard Mr. Suresh Kumar. The coordinated effort of the team ensured the cow was lifted out of the well without injury.

Reportedly the incident took place on the property of Mrs. Chandrika. Her two-year-old cow fell into an unlined well approximately 20 feet deep, containing about 10 feet of water.
