This is the horrifying moment an Indian man teasing a cobra was bitten and had to be rushed to a hospital.

Nagaraju was drunk when he attempted to tame the venomous reptile on the road at a college campus in Kadiri, Andhra Pradesh, India, on July 26.

Footage shows the man playing with and slapping the snake, which was trying to escape into the bushes. However, he dragged it back to the pathway and continued to interact with it.

Moments later, the threatened animal bit him multiple times on his arm, causing him to clutch his wrist in pain.

Onlookers tried to stop him from bullying the snake, but he disregarded their warnings.

The intoxicated man was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Snake experts reiterated the importance of exercising caution and avoiding interactions with wild animals, especially when under the influence of alcohol.

A cobra's single bite can kill 20 people. Its venom attacks the respiratory centers in the brain causing respiratory arrest and cardiac failure.

They are one of the biggest causes of snake bite deaths in India.
