Energetic border collie chasing cars on the road was mistaken for being abandoned in China
On July 24, 2024, in Yuncheng, a city in Shanxi province in northern China, a border collie puppy was filmed displaying its natural herding instincts by energetically chasing vehicles along a damp roadside.
Initially, the filmer Mr. Xi thought the dog might have been abandoned due to its behavior.
He had been traveling this road multiple times over the past few days and saw the Border Collie chasing cars every day. On that particular rainy day, he felt sorry for the dog getting soaked while chasing cars, so he sat in his car and watched the dog for a while.
He even bought some hot dogs and chicken legs for it but the dog didn't pay him any attention.
Xi posted the video online and the dog's owner contacted him to explain that the dog was not abandoned; it simply loved chasing fast-moving objects and had someone watching over it.
He dramatically found out that the dog's owner was nearby while he filming the video and they misunderstood he was trying to steal the dog.
