On July 27, typhoon Gaemi brought continuous heavy rains to Chenzhou, southern China, causing the water levels of Dongjiang Lake to rise rapidly. Amidst the flooding, a red tourist boat from Dongjiang Lake Grand Cruise Company collided with a hydropower station facility and was subsequently sucked into an underwater bridge tunnel, creating a shocking scene.

Footage from the incident shows the red boat, marked with "Night Tour Dongjiang Bay," drifting on the water before crashing into the hydropower station. Within ten seconds, the boat sank and drifted away from the facility.

On July 28, Dongjiang Lake Grand Cruise Company confirmed that the sunken vessel belonged to them but clarified that it was unmanned at the time and had already drifted away.

The video was provided with permission from local media.
