This is the heartwarming moment a pet owner floated to safety with his dog during a typhoon.

The kindhearted man transported his Aspin pooch on a Styrofoam platform during a severe flood caused by Typhoon Gaemi in Manila, the Philippines, on July 26.

Footage shows the homeowner aboard the platform with the well-behaved canine standing on it.

He then pulled the ropes to manoeuvre the float towards his family, who were sitting on top of their house's roof.

The country has been experiencing severe rainfall, causing flash floods and landslides from Typhoon Gaemi, which has since moved to China.

The rainstorm affected one million residents and killed at least 14 individuals as the typhoon exited the country's area of responsibility. The rainstorm left Taiwan with 25 individuals dead.
