A kind-hearted mechanic rescued a kitten trapped in the frame of a car - with just one paw poking out.

Mr. Shi, from Ju County in Shandong, China, noticed a kitten's paw sticking out from the bottom of his car on July 21.

After investigating, he realised that the cat was stuck inside the vehicle's casing and brought it to the local garage.

The mechanic, who wasn't named, lifted the car up on a rig and was able to remove the panel from under the car to free the kitten.

Video shows the kitten's paw reaching out of the car's bottom and then later its big eyes peeping out from a hole in the floor panel.

Mr. Shi said that the kitten has since been adopted by a grandma who lives in his neighbourhood.
