A couple were arrested for allegedly filming sex videos and selling them online in Thailand.

Wichada, 22, and her boyfriend, Surasak, 27, record themselves during intercourse to sell the videos to their followers on Elon Musk's X platform.

Police found the couple advertising their adult account, which had more than 400,000 followers, on the social media website, and arrested them in their home in Bangkok's Soi Ramkhamhaeng 54 area on July 27.

Officers seized sex toys, school uniforms, wigs, mobile phones, and other equipment said to have been used to shoot the sex videos. They also found the couple still logged into the x-rated account.

The arrest came after authorities discovered the sale of sexually explicit material on the platform.

An undercover agent contacted the account and wired 699 THB (15 GBP) before being added to a private channel containing hundreds of their videos.

The couple reportedly admitted to being the subjects of the arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Court on July 23.

Wichada said she was previously a TikTok influencer and decided to monetise her following by becoming a sex content creator. The Chinese tech firm currently does not pay ad revenue from its Creator Fund to used in Thailand.

The DIY model said: 'At first, I only posted videos of myself masturbating, but when Surasak became my boyfriend, he agreed to join me. We record videos of ourselves having sex. I know it was illegal, but I did not expect to get caught by the police.'

She added that they earn between 30,000 THB to 70,000 THB (650 GBP to 1,510 GBP) through their private channel.

However, the couple have denied working with minors or being involved in drug-related activities and online gambling.

Wichada and Surasak urged the youth 'not to follow the same path', vowing that they would find legal means to earn money from now on.

They were taken to the Huamark Police Station and will be charged with 'importing porn**raphy into a computer system, distributing porn**raphy, manufacturing porn**raphy for distribution, and operating a business involving the distribution of porn**raphy.'

Police Major General Theeradech Thamsuthee, commander of the Investigation Division of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, said: 'Parents and guardians must help each other and frequently check the online media usage of their children for any suspicious irregularities.

'As for sex creators, although such behavior may not be considered a crime in many countries, Thai law clearly states that it is a crime. Therefore, please understand the duty of police officers to enforce the law.'

He said violators who appear in obscene media to distribute it may face up to three years in jail, a fine of up to 60,000 THB (1300 GBP), or both.

While those who upload porn**raphy content onto a computer system that can be accessed by the general public may be sentenced to up to five years in prison, be made to pay a fine of up to 100,000 THB (2,157 GBP), or both.
