A snake took over a motorcycle while the rider stopped to refuel.

Footage shows the 3ft-long serpent crawling around the front basket of the two-wheeler as it was found by the owner at the petrol station in Phetchabun province, Thailand.

The reptile slithered through the space behind the fork of the vehicle while the owner Wasan Duangkanya, 35, and onlookers tried to chase it away.

Wasan then accelerated and knocked on the body of his scooter to make loud noises and scare the animal.

Wasan said: ‘It slithered onto my motorcycle when I climbed down to refuel. It might have been looking for a place to shelter from the hot place.'

Eventually, the snake left the Honda Wave 110 vehicle and was chased into a nearby forest.
