Injured seagull saved after swallowing skewer and falling from the sky in China
On July 30th in Dalian, Liaoning Province, a seagull was found in distress after accidentally swallowing a long bamboo skewer. The skewer became lodged in the bird's throat, preventing it from flying and causing it to fall from the sky. Fortunately, the seagull was rescued by a group of compassionate bystanders, who successfully aided the bird and released it back into the wild after ensuring it could fly again.
According to witness Ms. Wang, the seagull fell into a crowd of people who quickly gathered to assess the situation. They noticed the bird's esophagus was bulging with a large object—a 20-centimeter-long bamboo skewer. It is believed the seagull had ingested the skewer while trying to eat meat that was skewered on it.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, the bystanders carefully pried open the seagull's beak and managed to extract the skewer. After the removal, they observed the seagull to ensure it was unharmed and capable of flight. Once confident in the bird's recovery, they released it on the spot, allowing the seagull to return to its natural habitat.
