Scooter rider survives after running red light and colliding with car in China
On the afternoon of July 24th, a dramatic incident unfolded in Chongqing's Kaizhou District, southern China, where a girl riding an electric scooter ran a red light and collided with a car at an intersection. The impact sent the girl flying several meters, resulting in serious injuries. Fortunately, quick-thinking bystanders rushed to her aid, providing immediate assistance.
Surveillance footage captured the moment the girl, riding along Kaizhou Avenue and Baqu Street, was struck by a small car as she crossed the intersection against a red light. The collision propelled her to the ground, leaving her lying injured. Passersby quickly gathered to assess the situation and called emergency services. One woman, wearing a white t-shirt, held a parasol to shield the injured girl from the sun.
Two judicial police officers from the Kaizhou District People's Court, Xu Huitao and a colleague, happened to be nearby and immediately joined the rescue efforts. "The girl was struggling to get up, but we were concerned about her condition and advised her to stay still to avoid further injury," said Xu.
The crowd worked together to keep the girl calm and applied emergency bandages to stop the bleeding. After about ten minutes, an ambulance arrived, and the community members helped safely transport the injured girl onto the stretcher. She was later diagnosed with multiple fractures and abrasions but is expected to recover fully, as her injuries are not life-threatening.
