Thailand: CMG hosts dialogues in Thailand on deepening reform-related opportunities

Bangkok, Thailand - July 31, 2024

The China Media Group (CMG) hosted a dialogue on global cooperation opportunities brought by China's reforms in Bangkok, Thailand, on Wednesday.

The event was part of CMG's "Global Opportunities in Deepening China's Reform in the New Era" Global Dialogue series.

More than 500 exerts, scholars and professionals from Thai think tanks, media and universities participated in the event.

Shen Haixiong, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of CMG, delivered a speech via video link. He stated that the CMG is dedicated to telling the stories of China's reform and opening up, as well as China's modernization drive. The CMG is actively constructing a bridge and bond for exchanges, dialogue, and mutual learning between China and the rest of the world.

The CMG is engaged in extensive cooperation with cultural institutions, international organizations, and think tanks from various countries. This collaboration aims to jointly explore and share the global opportunities presented by China's further reforms in the new era, he said.

Shen also emphasized CMG's commitment to making a greater contribution to the advancement of a world characterized by peace, development, mutually beneficial cooperation, and shared prosperity.

Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Han Zhiqiang, and officials and delegates from Thailand, including Wirun Phichaiwongphakdee, director of the Thailand-China Research Center of the Belt and Road Initiative, also delivered speeches at the event.

The event also included an exhibition of paintings by Thai teenagers, themed "Modern China in My Eyes".

The event was covered by a string of mainstream Thai media outlets, including Thai Channel 5, Channel 7, TNN, Amarin TV, as well as prominent press agencies such as Thairath and Sing Sian Yer Pao Daily News.
