In this fascinating footage, Lego Man does his own Science demonstrations!
Jacob Strickling, Science Teacher from Sydney Australia decided to make Science videos which would be relatable to his students. Lego is ever popular, so Jacob constructed a miniature laboratory from Lego, and using real chemicals and real equipment does science on a tiny scale! There are no editing effects in this video, everything is real.

1. Elephant Toothpaste.
Hydrogen Peroxide is added to a concentrated solution of Potassium Iodide.
The Potassium Iodide acts as a catalyst and breaks the Hydrogen Peroxide down into water and oxygen gas. The oxygen gas produces bubbles with a small amount of dishwashing soap. The orange is from a bit of food colouring.

2. Steaming Tower
Hydrogen Peroxide is added to some Liquid soap with Manganese Dioxide which acts as the catalyst.

3. Boo Bubbles.
Dry Ice in water with a little bit of liquid soap.

4. Acid and Egg Shell.
Hydrochloric Acid and Calcium Carbonate (Shell) produce Carbon Dioxide, Water and Calcium Chloride

5. Wiggly water wave.
There are no visual effects.
The frequency of the wiggle is matched by the frequency of a strobe light to produce a ‘stationary’ wave.

6. Oobleck dance
‘Magic Mud’ – cornflour and water mixed together to make a non-newtonian fluid are placed on a speaker playing a frequency of about 40 Hertz
