Passenger train derails near Volgograd after collision with truck
On July 29, 2024, a passenger train traveling from Kazan to Adler derailed in the Volgograd region of Russia. The incident occurred in the Kotelnikovo district at the 185th kilometer of the Gremyachiy - Kotelnikovo crossing. According to the Western Interregional Investigation Department of the Russian Federation's Investigative Committee for Transport, a KAMAZ truck, which attempted to cross the tracks in front of the moving train, was hit and split into two. The collision caused at least eight passenger cars of the train to go off the rails. A criminal case has been opened as investigations continue.
