The pedestrians were unaware of the danger as they walked along the road to the Shiji Bridge in Ganzi Prefecture, in Sichuan, China, on Sunday, July 28.

The foundation of the steep-sided road experienced a sudden slide, leading to severe erosion of the ground beneath it as it dropped into the river and was swept away.

The video shows the moment that the earth and rocks began to fall, causing a series of collapses into the water below.

Despite the unstable conditions, pedestrians continued to walk on the road, unaware of the danger that had developed.

In response to the situation, the town government announced that the bridge had been closed to ensure the safety of individuals in the vicinity.
