Quick-thinking dad rescues trapped daughter with cooking oil after lift accident
This is the moment a quick-thinking dad arranges for cooking oil to be brought and poured on his daughter's hand so it can be pulled free after getting sucked into the gap between the lift door and the wall.
CCTV images from inside the lift show the moment the little girl inadvertently put her hand on the door when it opened in a building in Zigong, in Sichuan, China, on Sunday, July 28.
As the door began to open, it trapped the girl's hand. Her panicked grandmother called the girl's parents for help and then pressed all the buttons in a vain attempt to get the doors to open to free the child.
When the parents arrived, the little girl's father told his wife to get cooking oil from the kitchen.
He then poured the oil in the gap between the door where the girl's hand had become trapped, allowing it to be pulled free.
After the incident, she was taken to the doctor for an examination and was found to be unharmed.
Ms Wang, the child's mother, recognised the importance of safety awareness from this experience and shared the video in the hope that others would learn from it as well.
