Venezuelan presidential candidate Edmundo Gonzalez and opposition leader Maria Corina Machado claimed victory in the presidential elections on Tuesday in front of thousands of demonstrators in Los Palos Grandes, Caracas, after which dictator Nicolas Maduro, who claims to have been re-elected, called for the immediate arrest of the two oppositors.

"Let's not fall into the provocations they put up. What they want is to confront us among Venezuelans. We achieved that Edmundo got 70 percent of the votes", said Machado, who insisted that each one of the voting records issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE) "are the irrefutable and irreversible proof" of his victory". "There cannot be aggressions. What we are fighting against is fraud", she added.
