Colombia: U.S., Colombian Paratroopers Execute Night Jumps in HYDRA III Exercise
Tolemaida, Colombia - July 30, 2024
Colombian Army paratroopers from the Battalion of Counter Narcotics (BACN1) and U.S. paratroopers from Apache Company, 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, participated in multinational airborne jumps during HYDRA III 24 (HYDRA 24) at Fuerte Militar de Tolemaida, Colombia.
HYDRA 24, a bi-lateral exercise between the U.S. and Colombian armies, focuses on enhancing technical, procedural, and human interoperability between their airborne forces. The exercises also aim to demonstrate their capability to strategically deploy forces within the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.
Taking place during night and early morning hours on July 30, 2024, the jumps underscored the commitment of both nations to strengthening military cooperation and readiness. The exercises not only bolster operational readiness but also foster collaboration in addressing regional security challenges.
