Abay, Kazakhstan - July 31, 2024

In the Abay district, a lone elk was rescued near the town of Koksun, thanks to the prompt action of Vasiliy Busov, an inspector with the local police. The circumstances surrounding the appearance of this rare encounter with wildlife in the area have sparked curiosity.

The elk had wandered down to the river, unable to navigate its way back due to the steep banks. Several local farmers came to assist after the animal was spotted, ensuring it could safely return to the wilderness without harm. The rescue operation lasted over three hours, culminating in a successful release back into its natural habitat.

"We coordinated efforts to ensure the elk's safe return to the wild," said Vasiliy Busov.
