STORYLINE:
A live concert was held in Nairobi on Thursday, aiming to raise awareness about the threats facing iconic wildlife species.
The New Era Conservationist Live Concert, featuring poets, singers, and instrumentalists, was organized by World Animal Protection (WAP), an international animal welfare charity, and GreenTalk Art, a lobby group using arts and culture to raise awareness on animal welfare.
The half-day event included musical performances, speeches, and a film screening.

"You know we can't continue doing things as business as usual. And we have not really tapped into the talent of young people to be the voice for animals. We know, naturally, Africans we love art, we love culture, we love music. So, we believe art is the new approach, is the more innovative approach that we can naturally use to mobilize people around these issues. Besides being an entertaining way of bringing people together, it's also another way of speaking for animals. We want to blend culture, and fun, and entertainment."
